Government, like all organizations, evolves and innovates. The key is to lead, not follow. To address the immediate budget deficit and prepare for the future, the Partnership continues to work with our members to support the Governor’s Drive to Excellence program and other initiatives aimed at improving public sector productivity, including:
Regionalizing school district and local government administrative services.
Eliminating obsolete or unnecessary state mandates.
Increasing the use of competitive bidding in the delivery of state and local government services.
Examining eligibility criteria and targeting support only to those most in need with direct subsidies to individuals rather than funding for systems or institutions.
Examining public-sector compensation to make it more comparable to the private sector.
