Why Mentoring? Because it works.
A 2007 study released by the Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota and the Minnesota Youth Intervention Programs Association found that quality youth mentoring programs can expect a $2.72 return for every dollar spent on effective mentoring programs in the state, and an average return of $4.89 for every dollar invested in youth intervention programs.

Mentoring benefits young people and the community.
Research shows that young people who have mentors are less likely to use drugs, skip school or be involved in criminal activity. They are more likely to graduate from high school, enroll in college and be hopeful about the future. In short, they have a better chance of becoming good parents, good neighbors, good employees and good citizens.

Mentoring benefits employers and employees. Research shows, and MBP member responses to annual surveys confirm, that involvement in mentoring enhances a company's image; increases employee satisfaction and performance; and impacts the future workforce by helping young people with academics, exposing them to careers and giving them a positive/hopeful vision for their future.
