The Power of YOU
Power of YOU is a five-year demonstration project initiated by Metropolitan State, Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) and Saint Paul to provide qualifying graduates of Minneapolis and St. Paul high schools with two years of college - tuition free.

Students of color represent 70 percent of students enrolled in the Minneapolis and Saint Paul public schools. But at a time when an increasing number of jobs require more than a high school diploma, few students of color go on to higher education. To begin to change this trend, the Partnership in 2005 endorsed "The Power of YOU" and supported efforts to raise $2.5 million to fund the program for the first five years.
